The village of Duneau is set in a dominant position on the left bank of the Huisne, on a route that has been much sought-after since prehistoric times. The Pierrefiche menhir and the Pierre Couverte dolmen, dating from the Neolithic period (around 4000 BC), bear witness to this. They are the only visible archaeological remains among many others covering the periods of Antiquity and the Middle Ages. Their scientific study has enabled us to trace the village's history over a long period of time, making Duneau one of the most interesting villages in the Perche Sarthois region.
Map and full description of the route available in the Guide Rando du Perche Sarthois (46 routes).
