Along the Chéronne and Même valleys, discover Tuffé. Marvel at the magnificent Château de Chéronne and its English-style park, isolated from any urban activity by more than 400 hectares of woodland and other farmland.
You can also stop off at Tuffé Abbey, whose main features are the remains of the conventual buildings rebuilt by the Saint-Maur congregation between 1680 and 1740, and a 16th-century dovecote with remarkable terracotta bolts.
You can also see the Church of Saint-Denis at Saint-Denis-des-Coudrais, the Church of Saint-Jacques at La Bosse and the fortified church of Saint-Georges-du-Rosay.
The village is also home to the Manoir de Launay, which retains the character of late medieval manor houses in the Maine region: octagonal staircase tower in the centre of the façade, chartrier, defence tower converted into a dovecote.
The church of Saint-Martin in Souvigné-sur-Même will then be on your route.
A medieval and Renaissance town of timber-framed houses, courtyards and passageways, La Ferté-Bernard boasts a rich and remarkably well-preserved heritage. The majestic Notre-Dame des Marais church, the Saint-Julien town gate and the old covered market are just a few examples.
In Saint-Aubin-des-Coudrais, you'll find the church of Saint-Aubin and the 16th-century manor house of La Grande Beausserie.
While in Boëssé-le-Sec, take a look at the church of Notre-Dame-de-l'Assomption.
In Saint-Hilaire-le-Lierru, discover the 16th-century Manoir de la Cour and the parish church of Saint-Hilaire.
