Axel and Carine Werkling very quickly became imbued with the place they have been taming for 28 years.
Not far from Bonnétable (Sarthe), their 17th century farmhouse in the middle of a large meadow has become the crucible in which their creations are born.
Axel engraves wood or lino, which he then prints in clay. Often inspired by the world of plants, his motifs undulate in the clay to become "frozen music".
Carine, inspired by Bonnétable earthenware, on which the eponymous flower appears, continues to use the flower to decorate her utilitarian ceramics.
